Raining Fuel Industries LLC
I spoke to the folks at Rainingfuel Industries LLC this morning. They were the first manufacturer to list themselves in the WaterFueling.com Directory. Since they started producing HHO generators less than a year ago, they have sold hundreds of units ranging in price from $200 for the Mileage Master to $399 for the Mileage Miracle. I asked them about their business and although they do support individual sales via their website, they are focused on sales via Dealerships. I am told that several of their dealers are going through their second and third round of orders, selling out kits pretty rapidly. Also, they mentioned one dealer in particular who has been selling kits at car shows quite successfully. They've also offered me some help in tracking down some of their satisfied customers to grab a few insights. So, stay tuned, we'll have more info on these guys soon.

Top Kit Emerges: Punch HHO!

The kits are known by many names hho devices, hydrogen fuel injection system, hho generators, water fuel cells, hydrogen fuel cells. Whatever you call them, the more fundamental question is which one is the best kit to invest in and why? In my evaluation of these kits I used two main criteria: proven results and ongoing support. I've spoken to representatives at several of the companies that make these kits and I invite you to do the same. The one question which always in the back of my mind in talking with them is how do they handle things when something doesnt go well? Can you get ahold of them? Are they responsive? Are they genuinely interested in making sure you are satisfied with the product? To get to a happy place in this sphere, you have to start with someone who is a perfectionist about his craft. Second, you have to have a little bit of attitude because that's often time what drives people to be perfect.
I'm happy to say that Punch HHO excels at all of these characteristics. They offer 4 units, 2 for smaller than 5 liter engines and 2 for larger than 5 liter engines. The lower cost units are PVC based and the higher cost units are stainless steel. I recommend the stainless steel units for durability and aesthetics but go with the PVC if you're trying to save a buck (which you might be obviously if you're looking to purchase one of these kits.
Additionally, Punch HHO does something no other vendor does today which I think sets them apart. They recommend that you acquire the Water4Gas ebooks to help with your installation--although their kits are easy to install--they think the ebooks are well done and will help you navigate through any unforeseen issues. The kits do come with their own instructions but again, the Water4Gas books provide good background on how all of this technology works. Secondly, Punch HHO points out clearly that if you have a fuel injected engine, you need an EFIE to get the kit to work. You're going to find lots of kits and parts folks out there who are selling kits without pointing this out. Essentially, when you put an HHO kit on a fuel injected engine, it changes the oxygen value upstream from the catalytic converter and cause the system to add more gas to compensate. The EFIE corrects this and enables you to achieve the full benefits of the HHO.
We're always looking for better HHO kits but for now, your money is best spent with Punch HHO. If you have something better or want to offer some testimonials (or complaints) for Punch HHO, then get in touch with me ASAP. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to email me at the link in the upper right hand corner of this page.

What is the best HHO kit?
Once you've clicked around the internet for a few days and you start to see there's alot of people taking advantage of hho devices, you might wonder how best to get acquainted with the technology. What is the best HHO Kit out there? Since there are many manufacturers out there, you may wonder which one is the best? That's a good question and as of right now, there's not really a great answer since testing them in like conditions would not be easy. Why not? Part of the benefit of an hho device comes only after you've had it on the car for 30-60-90 days. For a particular car, if you installed kit A, drove around for 30 days then installed kit B....kit B would have the advantage since the system was primed already for it to work. The system gets primed over time. So how should you decide which kit to go with?
I would posit that you need to focus on two things: (1) existing customer satisfaction and (2) post sales support. I'm going to be writing more about this in the near future.
In the meantime, if you really want to take advantage of this technology and are willing to invest, then you should start with a little reading on the topic by the ebook that is currently leading the market and which manufacturers have told me recently was the one that got them started on this this whole thing, ie, Water4Gas. Why not just read the internet for information on this topic? Because it's going to take you a long time to search over the internet to find bits and pieces of insights, etc. Plus, you find out in reading the ebook that you dont really want to invest in an HHO device? (just being theoretical here). And in that case, if you dont want to invest, you can get your money back on the ebook. So, hedge your bets and come out more knowledgeable on the topic.

Water4Gas Installer Interview
Lately, I've been talking about the emerging need for folks with experience installing kits to come forward and start spreading this technology around so the benefits can spread. But alot of people still wonder about why I recommend the Water4Gas book. I see it as a good intro for anyone thinking of investing in this technology--either layman or mechanic or simply mechanically inclined. But if you are a mechanic, you can launch an entire business installing these kits. There's no doubt about that. This is actually a good little video which interviews a guy who started with the Water4Gas book and went on to install 8 units for other folks.

Tax Credits
I did some looking around into the tax deductions that may be available for installing an hho gas generator or hydrogen fuel injection system on your vehicle. I'm not an accountant, but this may be the relevant text in the code. I'd really like a tax accountant to help me understand all that legalese there. Shoot me a note if you are such a person.

Pros/Cons of Do It Yourself vs Kits: Hydrogen on Demand
I've tried to gather on this blog 3 things: information about products, companies and news related to water fuel cells aka water hybrids, hydrogen fuel injection systems, and hho gas generators all names for the same technology. There are two options out there today for consumers seeking to take advantage of this proven technology: complete kits or do it yourself ebooks. See review list on the right of the page.
The pros of do it yourself are easy to identify. A) costs--you can build and install one for less money and B) gain valuable experience doing so and possibly start a business out of it. The cons are that this will require you to invest some of your time to get there. If you're not handy with mechanical things, it's probably not for you. Instead, you should seek some of the complete systems and have someone else install it for you.
The pros of the complete kit is that it will save you time and you will have less worry about making mistakes. The problem is that the systems are expensive and range in price from $1000-$4000. Certifications in the various products do not yet exist but from the manufacturers I have talked to these are coming. And if you are a mechanic, you should definitely be investigating this technology because it is HOT!!!!! In fact, if I were a mechanic or handy person serious about taking advantage of the economic conditions of the day and increased fuel prices, I might be inclined to buy all of these ebooks.
In the meantime, if you simply want an education about what this is all about, an ebook would probably make a good investment and help you evaluate this evolving marketplace. For now, the top pick of the site is still Water4Gas.

Hydrogen Fuel Injection Systems
I took a clue from Kevin over at HydrogencarsNow.com and contacted Patrick Serfass at the National Hydrogen Association in Washington DC. I really wanted to understand what the association thinks about hho gas or using water for fuel, water hybrids, etc. Mr. Serfass was very to the point that this technology is proven both in the field and in the lab. The NHA sees it as a major breakthrough that can bring the benefits of hydrogen power to today's gas based fueling infrastructure. "There's no question that it lowers emissions, reduces fuel requirements by 10 to 40%, and provides vehicles with more torque, " Searfass said. I asked him why I couldnt find anything on his website about this technology and he told me they just added a page. So check it out. Click on the last link on the page. From a terminology standpoint, the NHA is referring to these devices as Hydrogen Fuel Injection Systems. And Searfass went on to point out that this technology has, in relation to companies in his association, have logged 50Million miles using this technology including being in use by FedEx. Finally, I promised I'd point readers to NHA's website designed to provide more information about Hydrogen called http://www.h2andyou.org/ Thanks Patrick!

Backed By Proof

It's getting more difficult to keep track of all the companies offering hho gas or hydrogen on demand hybrid plugin devices. But today, I found a very cool story on a company in Florida with a device called Hydro 4000. But what's unique about the Hydro 4000 is they have a public demonstration documented by a local news station in Florida. The news station actually installed the unit on their NEWS TRUCK! They did a before and after test on a dynamometer.
Their results: 9mpg before the unit was installed. 23mpg after the unit was installed. 61% better!!!
The price on these units range from $1200 for regular passenger vehicles to $7000 for large tractor trailors. Any certified mechanic can install them although certification is not a requirement for the warranty.
To me it's more good news in this area to offset the news of the predicted increase in the price of oil to $150/$200 a barrel.
